I have a weird thing going on at work. I am unable to ping computer 1 from any computer but computer 1 can ping out. I have tried and tested many things I.E. different switch, no firewall, different computer on the same switch, check ICMP settings to see if its allowed to be pinged (it is through DHCP). My boss checked the BIG firewall no request even goes to the computer for ping... This tells me something is blocking it. The "BIG firewall" perhaps!?!?!? It's certainly a good place to start troubleshooting. This is the point in the troubleshooting steps where I would get some packet sniffers on the network to see what kind of traffic is going where.

Ok, time to get packet sniffing and figure out what data's being transmitted, what isn't, and what's blocking the pings. You might also want to try a tracert (from a command prompt window) on a couple of the PC's that aren't pinging and compare to one that is.
