Hello, I'm having a problem with my internet connection. I'm on a wireless system with another computer, and I made a reboot of my sytem by mistake - fortunately I had a backup. But now, my Internet connection is very weird: I can access most of the websites, but some of them, such as Hotmail when I sign in, don't work: Explorer only gives the "Cannot find the server/The page cannot be displayed" page. Also, my KazaA downloads are stangely very slow, while on the other computer in the house they are always at top speed. And my Norton Antivirus doesn't work (plus I had to resubscribe after the reboot) when I try to run LiveUpdate: it says that I have no Internet connection!!! Finally, manually downloaded programs from the Internet work fine, but more sophisticated ones that have their own downloading system don't, like Adobe Acrobat Reader, MSN Messenger and IncrediMail. What should I do? I obviously HAVE an Internet connection, because I can type this message from my computer... Please help!! Cristallerine.

what were you doing when you accidently rebooted. Could there be spyware/viruses that are causing webpages/antivirus to not function. Sometimes on win2000 machines if they were shut down improperly you had to run a chkdsk /r to fix the booting problems, but you might try this from the XP recovery console. login to your windows install and then type in chkdsk /r and it will repair and bad files. otherwise it sounds like virus trouble, the way that your antivirus was disabled.
