Solved Websites load with interruptions

August 17, 2011 at 03:23:22
Specs: Windows Vista
I open some website and it starts loading very fast. Then it stops for no reason. After some time (5, 10, 20 seconds) website continues loading. It happends to all websites. For example, I open some website with 20 thumbnail images. 18 images load immediately and then website "hangs" and the last 2 images load after some time. I have scanned my PV for viruses, I have checked the list of running processes - nothing unusual. I don't use wireless connection. I tried to disconnect from electricity and restart the ADSL router. It helps but only for a short time. Very soon the problem is back. Any ideas?

Normally this pausing is caused by the server side. Don't forget, data travelling to your PC across the internet contends with everybody elses data as it passes through routers. Most routers are FIFO (first in, first out) so your data has to always wait it's turn in queue.

Also, if the server itself is busy, that will affect how quickly a page loads.

Since power cycling your router seems to help for a bit, I suggest you click on my name above in this response and read my “how-to” guide titled, “Troubleshooting Wireless Issues” and go through the steps listed there.

These steps are also valid for troubleshooting issues with non-wireless routers.

I am the captain of my soul.
