This is probebally one of those "Shady" posts that Computing.net does not like but here it goes. At school we are bloacked using a very common firewall called Websense. They have the settings extremly high, iT blocks almost everything (Even some school pages). I was woundering how to get past it? I did a google search, and they say to download stuff, but thats if you are in like Russia, or China. So what do I do being in Arizona? I do not have a lot of acess to those computers as well (Internet options, Printers, Sound levels, etc...) So if anyone can help It will be greatly appreciated!
If your webpage does not need updating, then there is something wrong.
I have Websense setup at my school...almost all "interesting" sites are blocked and access to the internal settings is totally blocked (cant even change desktop) but I did find one way to bypass the firewall. Theres a type of program u can set up on your home comp which allows u to kind of access your home comps IP and use it to connect to any site u wish while on a school comp( or any censored machine). Its called a circumventor...and it can be kind of slow...and sometimes it won't load a whole page because it isnt actually connecting to the webpage fully. It was made for people in other countries who are denied access to most of the internet and just want to gather info. so, try this site http://www.zensur.freerk.com/ its got the info and instructions, and some other methods of bypassign firewalls. good luck to anyone who finds any need for this.
also, this approach was almost blocked on my school's system, and I almost got in serious trouble...so be careful...
We also have that stupid websense at our school..my friends and I have tried countless times to "hack" the system, but websense also blocks all proxy avoidances...is there anyway to get around those so I can "hack"???

As of now thats all I have, once we can re-write the admin junk in command prompt to disable websense we'll try our damndest to make a GUI based program to do that automatically, untill then altavista is your best bet. GL -seth
Yeah, we have Websense blocking everything at my school, as well. Like purevolume.com and myspace.com. I tryed using http://the-cloak.com but my IP got banned lol. If you can figure out anyway of bypassing, it'd be great.
