It seems my computer is being an ass.

Here's my situation:
My PC is clearly connected to the internet. I use a wireless router and my laptop connects fine. Problem is, my PC doesn't want to "use" the connection. My web browser, and other applications like iTunes, always gives me an "address not found" page.

I've checked that it wasn't a problem with the cable connecting my modem to my PC. The bubble pops in and out warning me I have gained/lost a connection. So that's fine.

The fact I get internet on my laptop proves the modem is fine.

I'm not sure what's wrong. Help would be much appreciated.

Open a command prompt and run:
ipconfig /all

Post the output here.

Also from the command prompt:

ping google.com

ping 209.85.171.99

Post the outputs of those as well.

Alrighty. I'd note there is a router between the modem and the PC, if that wasn't apparent before.

The IP address shown ^^^ is usually the router's IP address and the default gateway. The PC would be 192.168.0.2 or higher.

Secondly, there is no default gateway. Packets can't be routed without one.

Give the PC a static IP address along with static DNS entries. Use 192.168.0.20 or something and use the DNSes of your ISP.

Shut DHCP in the router.

Or, enable DHCP on the network connection on the PC.
