Watching hulu and US Netflix by changing your DNS

Specs: Windows 7
I don't live in the US. Wanderer - I can watch US Netflix or hulu simply by changing DNS (yes - DNS: google unblock-us, unlocator or getflix services ) but when I use VPN hulu and Netflix immediately recognize that I use it and block the content.

Changing your external IP address isn't necessary to watch regionally restricted content!

VPN is NOT the solution!

Interesting... What was the original post to which this relates?

There have been several posts where people needed help with DNS setup on 2 routers in order to watch geographically locked content but the posts were to old so I couldn't reply.

Certain user claimed that these people were wrong and didn't need to change DNS. However - changing DNS is the only thing that helps unlock hulu or Netflix.

It is easy to change DNS on devices but for Google Cromecast or Roku players it is impossible - they're hardcoded with Google's and servers. In order to unblock Chromecast it isn't enough to change DNS on router - you also need to block Google DNS servers with static routing.

I will try to get my Chromecast to work today with US content.

Interesting. The workaround to "posts were to old so I couldn't reply" is provide the posts URLs so we can see where the previous information is wrong. Thanks

Yes, you can still give links to blocked posts, which would help.

"Wanderer" last posted here on 30 November 2015 so I'm not sure whether he is still visiting these boards.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
