hey folks
im question is...
how can i set up a network (or same way to connect with) with my pc, and my girl friends pc. a few miles away. im pretty sure its possible. just i got no idea...any help would be appreciated.

You could use the built in Remote Desktop Connection. This wouldn't provide a full-time LAN type connection however. For something like that you'd need a VPN. But if you just want to connect, RDC will work. You can find it in:

Start >> Programs >> Accessories >> Communications

Note: If she has a firewall, you'll have to port forward the RDC port on her firewall to her PC's IP address in order for the connection to work.

See also barracudaserver if you want secure file access.

Some IM programs allow some sort of file sharing.

PCAnywhere is secure enough.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you goober.
