Couple questions: Is the "DSL box" a bridge or a router? Also, do you have a static IP, DHCP, or PPPoE?

In a win2k P2P network you MUST have the same username and password setup on ALL boxes unless you have enabled "guest" access on all mavhines. Even doing so you may not see the other machines in Network Neighborhood.
You should still be able to map or conntect to shares by going to start->run and the typing \\xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx where the "x"'s are the IP address of the destination machines.
