Comment:

I have recently installed Linkys Wireless -B Router at home . I have Bellsouth DSL at home. After installing the router, I am able to VPN into my office network but whenever I try to use Terminal Services to the Windows 2000 machine in my office network domain I am not able to Terminal Serv into those machines. But I can do a telnet to the same machine. Also as long as my VPN connection to office network exists I could not browse the internet too . It keeps hanging. But when I disconnect VPN to office everything works fine. I have tried changing the DMZ host to the IP address of the machine from which I am doing a VPN but it did not help. Before I installed the router I was able to VPN and terminal serv into office network. What could be the problem. ?Any help will be appreciated.

Can't access the Internet while using VPN

Symptom: after establishing a VPN connection, you may not be able to access the Internet because the VPN takes over your existing connection and all traffic to use the VPN default gateway on the remote network. The remote network may not allow VPN clients to access the Internet via their gateway.

Resolutions:
1) Disable the "use default gateway on remote network" option in the properties of the VPN connection. To do that, go to VPN Connection->Properties->Network->TCP/IP->Properties->Advanced-, uncheck "Use default gateway on Remote Network".
2) Edit route table manually if you know how to or check routing page on this web site.
