Hi,
i have a PC at home connected directly to a 512k ADSL Connection

I also have my pc at work connected to a 24port hub, which is connected to a 1024K ADSL Connection

How do i set up a VPN connection so that i can connect to my home pc from work. and have the my documents folder displayed as icons.

both home and work internet ip's do not change, but are permanent

Any help word be appriciated as i really need to set up this VPN

The first thing you've to do is to ensure that there is a VPN server in your office network. Then, you have to configure in the client machine (your home PC) a VPN connection with the name or IP of the VPN server of your office network. To establish this connection you must be connected with your ADSL. If not, you must configure the VPN connection to connect firstly to the Internet using your ADSL. However, this is only the client configuration, which is far easier than the server :-) and I repeat: Ensure there is a VPN server in the network you want to connect to!

I need to connect from office to home not home to office

to tell you the truth i have managed to connect from office to home but I didn't know how to set the my documents folder to be browsed from my office pc

Oh, if it's that, it's quite easy. If you have been able to connect to your home PC from your office (and not the opposite, as I had understood in a quick view at you first message) through VPN (which, virtually, is the same as if you were inside your LAN), you only need to locally share your 'My Documents' folder and give permissions to yourself and/or the users you want to access. Then, login as one of those users.

As you say you are connecting through VPN I suppose you have already configured a VPN server in your home network...

Yes i managed to connect by VPN but i dont really know how to set the my documents folder to be shared
