Hi

I have a standalone computer with a 56k dialup modem connecting to the internet. I use Cisco VPN Client, and it seems to cut out at least every 10 minutes.

It's not the modem having trouble because I have done a ping to Google for hours and never lost more then 1 packet.

I have the Cisco VPN program as an exception in the firewall too if that would make a difference.

Any help appreciated,
Thanks

Are you saying that the modem stays connected but the VPN doesn't? What version are you using and what OS?

Yep. I'm using release 5.0.01.0600.

I just connected the VPN and started pinging a location using it, and I noticed every 3rd or 5th packet is around 2500ms, and the others are around 400ms. Don't know if that's relevant? Seems weird

Looks like it's not just loosing connectivity when idle, it's only when I go to a private website. It is only me having this problem, otherwise other customers would have complained about it. Any idea what this could be?

I'm using IE6 and the site is in my trusted sites list.

I was going to say MTU but that's automatically set in the later versions of Cisco VPN.

Look at the event viewer for error messages.
