Hi, I have a 10 computer network. One hardware linksys router, dsl line and WIndows 2000 Advanced Server. The router is in charge of NAT and DHCP.
I installed PPTP VPN on the server. When i got to the part where I had to specify what internet connection the server uses, I had 2 options. and Local Area Connection2. I could not choose the 2nd option cause it told me that I cannot choose the last available connection. Therefore, I had to choose the . I do not have a modem installed on the server since we have DSL. I only have a network card.
I then proceeded to configure the Windows 98 client for VPN. I get the following message.,
"The remote computer refused the VPN connection. Please try agaian later."
Now, I forwarded port 1723 on the router which is the PPTP port and The router's firmware is the latest. I made sure the user has dial in access. I have followed all the instructions, and it is still not working.
Can somebody give me some additional troubleshooting tips?

You can't have the Linksys router do dhcp and port forwarding at the same time. Set your clients to a static ip, and port forwarding should work.
