I have a pair of Linksys BEFSX41 VPN routers
running. One is at work with a small network of
Win2K machines. The other is at home with a
network of mixed machines. After much messing around I have the VPN running.
The problem is that when I go to network
neighborhood on the WinXP Pro machine at home,
the only computer to show up is the one on which I
am logged in. nothing from the remote end of the
VPN.One of the other machines on the home network is a
Mac with OSX and it can see all the machines at the
remote end just fine, and connect to all of them, but
the XP machine can't.here are some things I've tried.
made sure IPX/SPX, Netbios, NETBEUI were all
installed on both endsDisabled the WInXP personal firewall (ICF)
Turned off Norton Internet Security
Deleted the Bridge that WinXP created when it saw a
firewire card on the computerI know the VPN is working because the Mac can
connect, but I'm baffled about the WinXP Pro
machine. If anyone can shed some light, it would be
much appreciated.

can you ping remote computer by ip? if yes, can you ping it by name?
