vpn connected but cant access any other ip

Users get connected to my vpn using sbs server 2003 from home but they cant access the file server in the office network or ping any other device. i checked everthing. the sbs uses one nic card and ip is 10.0.0.50 and it assigns the vpn client ip 10.0.0.39 to its own and vpn client as well. what can be the problem. the file server is in the same network as vpn and the ip is 10.0.0.139
