I have asked a few other questions here before and everyone here as come forth and helped out emensly so here goes another one...

Well thanks to the help of this forum I got my VPN setup but now im really stumped.

The clients of the VPN can not access any of the shared resources on the network...

VPN Connection goes through no problem but it never sees any other computer on the network... any ideas?

Rob

What IP address are they assigned when they vpn in? Is it on a different network than your LAN? If so, some routing might need to be done.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

Its all on the same network. The internet comes in through modem hits my router and the ports for the VPN are forwarded to the server... only one router same network

VPN users get an ip addess from 192.168.0.2-51 and the rest of the network gets 192.168.1. 2-51

That's 2 different networks, I'm assuming that the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 for both, you might see what your gateway is on both, and also see if you can ping the gateway or a machine that's on the LAN when you're vpn'd in.

I'm saying that it's 2 different subnets it might all be on the same physical network, but not logically.

Ok hadnt though of it that way im assuming this would have to do with the subnet mask witch was automaticly set for me heres wut ipconfig comes up with

eithernet adapter is
Ip 192.168.1.4
Subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway 192.168.1.1

as for the PPP adapter is

192.168.0.2
255.255.255.255 (extra 255 in their)'
no gateway

I'm honestly not even sure how to change these or the values they should be i just left them the way they were...

Thanks rob

255.255.255.255 (extra 255 in their)'

that subnet means only ONE host and no other. This means the nic gets an ip but there are no other valid ips under that subnet mask available.

You can't have a f.f.f.f subnet with what you are giving out for ip is f.f.f.0
f=255

What kind of router is this? You're definitely gonna have to get into the settings.

Open up a command prompt once you're vpn'd in and type:
route print
and post the results.
