Specs: Windows vista
I setup a win7 machine to accept incoming vpn connections. On a different win7 machine, I successfully connected to this VPN through the internet. But a Vista machine can't connect at all.

It says "verifying username and password" but I doubt it's getting that far. I don't think the 2 machines are communicating at all, because the error message after that just says "failed to connect".

I know the server is setup right because the other win7 machine connects to it successfully.
On the win7 server's router, I have the port opened and forwarded to the server.

I don't have access to the router of the vista machine, but I don't think that should matter 1: because it's only the client, not the server, and 2: with the win7 client I didn't have access to the router either and it didn't have any problem.

So I think it must be a problem within the vista machine, but I can't figure out why it won't connect.

Always start with the firewalls, from Windows to Zone Alarm & everything in between.
