|I am just having an issue with adding a virtual ipaddress, this is the first time that i have done this and I am not sure what I am doing wrong. |
We have a web server which has a primary IP address assigned to the NIC eg: 10.10.1.20
We then added a second web application that needed a seperate internal ip address so
I added a virtual IP address 10.10.1.15 to the same NIC.
However since doing this windows updates and NTP services have stopped working.
I think that is because there are no firewall rules setup to allow the virtual ip address to communicate with the WSUS and NTP servers.
To me it looks like the virtual ip address has taken over as the primary IP but i don't understand why.
Is there any command that i can run to set the primary IP address back to 10.10.1.20? as i don't really don't want to add additional firewall for this virtual IP address.
