I'd like to have an overview of all the IP addresses that are on my network. Is there a way that I can have an overview without going to each individual computer ?

Go find a IP Scanner program at www.downloads.com. Enter in the IP range your network uses and scan it to see what IPs are being used. Hope this helps.

do you have access to the server? If yes and it's NT, just go to DHCP manager and it will list them with each machine name and the length of the lease.

Use the first option. A DHCP server will only show you clients that actually use it, and shouldn't give you any servers, as they should be static. Of course, that's even providing you USE a DHCP server.
Try WSPingProPack. You can get a trial version here. You can try it for free, and buy it if you like it.
There are others, but this one is a pretty good one. I haven't tested any of the other ones.

doesnt pingpropack also have a port scanner, they should get permission to install and run that before hand as they could get fired if it is found by the wrong person.
