There has been a problem that I have had to deal with ever since I got my first router. Every couple of hours or so internet traffic would just stop; I have to unplug the power of the router and plug it back in for traffic to start again or restart my PC would start it to.
I recently got a netgear (my old one was linksys) and the same problem still occurs...please someone help me?

I have had this problem twice over the past several years.
The first time, I would lose connection 3-6 time per day. I would reboot the modem and router each time and I would have my connection back again for a while. I finally replaced the router and the problem went away.
The same kind of problem came back a few years later. I replaced the router again, no luck. I replaced the Cable modem, no luck. I called the cable company insisting that it must be their problem. They came out and found that I had a weak signal and replaced a splitter on the outside of the house. Problem solved.
The second time
