Specs: Windows 7
This modem has multiple ethernet ports which I use to hard wire my PC , Directv info, and a device to stream Netflix movies to the TV. Pic quality on the movies is so-so. Would modem to router to movies device help the movies quality ie. use a router interface vs going directly from modem to movies device?

Your modem appears to also be a router. It would add nothing to add a router to this mix.

Are you comparing quality with your pc running netflix?

I watch netflix via a wii and wireless and its great. I suspect its your "device to stream Netflix movies to the TV" is the issue.

Answers are only as good as the information you provide.

Your netflix streaming quality is going to be only as good as the speed of internet you subscribe to and the traffic that is using the internet in your home while streaming. So if you have standard dsl you are goin to get low quailty streams standard speed are usually 768kbps to 1.5Mbps depending on your provider if you want better quailty streams i would recommend upgrading your internet speed.
I use TimeWarner Cable Road Runner Extream which has speeds of 30Mbps down and 5Mbps Up to some people is is over kill, but I have over 15 devices that access the internet.
I would recommend for the best quality streams to upgrade your internet speed to atleast 5Mbps or higher that will give you plenty of head room to use other devices while streaming a HD picture via Netflix

Thanks ddennis002. Tried to upgrade my Verizon dsl but I was told I am maxed out right now for my location at 1.5mbps. Only other thing I can try is HDMI connection from device to tv as I am currently using composite connection due to HDMI port availability limitations.
