Been having connection problems lately. I upgraded to 3.0 speed for verizon dsl 2 months ago and everything was great. I remember the Local Area Connection and Verizon DSL used to connect at 1000mbps. Now it only connects at 100. The connection feels 10 times slower, I tested it on connection speed website and i got results such as 500kbs 230kbs 940kbs, i dont know what going on with all these crazy speeds. I opened my computer, moved the ethernet card to another pci slot and reinstalled it, same problem occurs. It doesnt connect to lan at 1000mbp any more. Does anyone have any suggestions cause its really irritating me lately. I also tried resetting the modem with no increase in speed. Thanks for any suggestions

Network Interface Cards work at their full speed when all components and conditions are at the ideal. Any kind of cabling or connection problem will cause them to downshift to the lower speed. You should make a detailed examination of all of your physical setup, including the seating of the Network Interface Card in the motherboard slot.

I'm a Verizon customer myself. Here's something you can do. First reboot the PC for a clean start then run Verizon Speedtest (sorry folks, it's only for Verizon customers.) If the upload/download speed result is still less than what you expected, give Verizon DSL Tech Support a call at 1-800-567-6789. Ask the tech to test the speed to your DSL. If it is normal, the problem may be confined to your PC.

those crazy numbers are pretty wide, but all you have to do is hit a slow router during the test & it will kill your test speed. You're likely running different routers on the net even testing 5 sec. apart. I get similar results, but no real problems here (running Verizon with Westell 2200 dual connect, WinXP home. Your best bet is to roll back the changes "DOWNGRADE" from 3.0. - Problem solved
(there's likely a little B.S. conflict of sorts - [.dll files, etc.] with the 3.0 "upgrade" & some s/w /driver file already on your system.
