Ok, here goes. My first plea for help. I have 2 computers on a network, but one of them seems to have a real problem with nic's. I've tried about three different brands. Repeatedly and carefully loaded the drivers, tried different slots on the mobo, all to no avail.
It's an FIC va-503+ with and AMD 400mhz k6-2.
The only way I can make it work (sortof) is with a USB 10/100 adaptor using the USB riser. And that doesn't work real well. The computer seems to go "invisible" from time to time, requiring a restart.
I'm hoping that somebody has found a solution and is willing to share. I sure would appreciate it. Thanks!

Incidentally, I'm using Win98se. Probably should put that in there, too. Thanks.
