Here is my current setup. ADSL line going into a modem connected to computer via USB. XBOX in same room feeling lonely as its not connected to the internet (yet).

A simple solution would be to buy a wireless router and the xbox wireless adapter however this would cost me a lot of money.

I have some Ethernet cable long enough to stretch between the PC and the XBOX so i was wondering if there is software avalibe that would allow me to route the internet connection out of the onboard ethernet port and into the xbox... or weather i'd have to buy another network card?

Thanks in advance. Ed.

You can connect the XBox the the onboard Ethernet card.

You then need to install Internet connection Sharing on the computer which will make its Internet connection available to devices connected to the Ethernet port.

You will then need to configure the Xbox to get it IP address automatically from the computer and set its gateway address to the Computers IP address.
