I was trying to change my IP and I typed in ipconfig /flushdns and now my router settings are pretty much cleared out. I tried the reset button on the back. I can only connect to the internet by bypassing the router and using the DSL modem. I'm using a D-Link DI-808HV Router. Thanks

ipconfig/flushdns only effects your local workstation and not the router. You hitting the reset on the router did that.
So start fresh.
Pull out the router manual and follow the instructions on setting it up. It will walk you thru recording your present ip settings being provided by the ISP [get by ipconfig]. You will put these into the wan interface settings for the router.
Hopefully this will get you started down the right path.

I finally found my bellsouth CD and got the DSL modem working after I did a hard reset. The router (which was struck by lightning 3 months ago) is still refusing to work. I did make progress and I ran the router wizard and got the WAN light on but I couldn't connect. I'm going to buy a cheap 4port router and see if that works. Thanks

how many times did you use the reset button?? you may need to reload the firmware on the router....call the manufacturer or go to their webpage and they can walk you through it.
