I would like to use my single RJ45 cable as two cables by using two twisted pairs for each station. The cable is CAT5E UTP type and length is about 120ft. Will it work?
Yes, you have to make a breakout box on each end to match nic pinouts. Will not work for gig but 100base should work. TX+- RX+- is 4 and you have 8 wires.
Not a good solution however. A simple hub or switch may be better on each end.
There are plenty of other ways too. Amost all newer adapters can have many ip addresses.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.
