Run ipconfig /all from a command prompt & post the output.

The computer is a Mac G5. I only know how to run config on a PC. Is there a way to do it on the Mac? It is like the computer does not know where to go to get the connection but when I look under network ti shows the ethernet adaptor currently active. The device is working and the computer looks like it knows where it is but nothing when I try to connect.
