Hi,

Does anyone know if its possible to convert a USB 2 to RJ45? I have an external hard drive and was wondering if its possible to do that so that it can be accessed on a network?

Thanks

They do make things to share usb devices over IP but I would agree that a NAS enclosure for your drive might be much easier and cheaper. You can get a 2Tb buffalo raid NAS for under $800.

I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

Linksys makes a Network Storage Link which has the the ability to connect 2 USB drives. About $100. They also have a box that holds 2 drives.

If you love listening to music and you are actually thinking of buying NAS, be advised that Western Digital blocks full access to media files - due to unverifiable media license authentication. The remote desktop software embedded on the NAS device does not share audio and video files listed in this WD knowledge database.
