Uplink routers

hey,
I have a d-link router for my network unfortunatly i have recently got another computer and my d-link is full up (4 port) i have a spare netgear router (4port). if i were to uplink the 2 do i go from a normall output port in the d-link to the uplink port in the netgear or do i go from the dlinks up link to the netgears wan port??? also what kind of cable do i use a crossover or a straight? thanxs for help

Do not use the wan port on the netgear. It will act as a bridge/hub instead of a router.
Make sure to disable dhcp on the netgear.

If you use regular ports on both router, or you are using uplink ports on bouth router, you have to use use crossover cable.

Otherwise, if one(1) of the port is an uplink, you may use regular(straigh) cable.
