This is really strange...
i've got a dell inspiron 6000 series laptop with integrated wifi adaptor.. i have a D-link Di-524 Wireless router.. everything was working fine until now.. i had not used my laptop for around 10 days and when i switched it on it was no detecting the wireless network though my router seems to be working fine.. note that I have my router switched on 24/7 all the time.. i have my desktop connected to it (wired) and it seems to be working fine there.. I tried taking my laptop to wifi hotspots and it seems to work fine there with no problem… so the problem is not with my laptops adaptor.. actually I had a similar problem previously I tried hard but could not make it work.. so I had no choice but to get a new router (the one I am currently having) and even this seems to have the xact same problem.. I checked everything, the laptops network adaptor is on and so is the router.. and I did not change any settings or do something unusual… and I am not a noob.. I just doesn’t seem to make any sense.. 2 router both having the same problem.. exactly the same.. that too after working for sometime without any problem..I tried logging into the routers page (192.168.0.1) and played around with the settings but it made no difference.. is there a way to diagnose this problem at least to check where the problem lies.. is it with the router or some setting in my laptop… at least a way to check whether my router is transmitting any wireless signal or not… I even tried manually resetting the router and doing the network setup all over again and it still made no difference whatsoever.. I just need help badly coz I cant afford to buy another router for no reason.. there is no reference of any such problem anywhere over the net or any of the forums or any place for that matter… I’ve been searching extensively for it and there is no solution whatsoever..
and I tried using both windows zero configuration utility and the intel ProSet/wireless software.. I read that there could be problems using 2 application to manage the wireless connection.. so I tried either of them… I tried uninstalling the intel software also… no difference.. but it used to work fine before.. all of a sudden this problem has come.. and its hardly 3 months since I’ve got this new router..
if anyone could give a solution it’ll be really helpful or at least direct me to some place where I could get the solution…
hoping to hear from u people soon……
