i recently set up a wireless network at my parents house because they got clearwire. i used a linksys wrt54gs router and matching usb adapter. problem is, the network drops out very frequently. the computer is in the same room as the router, but it still loses the connection all the time. is there anything i can do to help it?

Could be cross-channel interference from another wireless device in the same street, maybe next door even.

Try setting router to a different channel then set the wireless adaptor to the same (most adaptors can automatically detect when channel has changed so you might only need to change it on the router).

Could be interference , I have also found some USB adaptors are garbage and you are better off getting a wireless pci adaptor .

the house is in the country, closest neighbor is about 1/4 to half mile away. i think im gonna just run an ethernet cable from router to pc, to verify that the problem is not with the clearwire
