Unidentified Network after installing a new router

May 23, 2012 at 13:30:19
Specs: Windows Vista
I bought a new router last night in an attempt to fix some internet issues. I replaced my old router (an N150 lynksis) with the one I bought (an N300 netgear) and after getting all the wires connected, my computer wouldn't connect to the internet and it wouldnt recognize the router as anything other than "Unidentified Network". I've tried reseting and power cycling the modem, shuting down the computer, even some random tips from the internet but nothing seems to be working.

did you follow the setup manual that came with the router?
are you connected wired or wirelessly?

With your pc connected to the router go to a command prompt and do a ipconfig /all and post the results for review.
