I have 4 computer runing windows xp pro
e

my network hub is a Netcomm wireless 4 port adsl router. NB6+4W.

3 of the computer work perfectly sharing and can view each others shared files.

On one computer I am having a lot of trouble.
All computers are on the same workgroup "HOMERS"

1) I can ping all other computers from the command prompt ok.

2) the computer can connect to the internet without aby problems.

3) When I goto "My Network Places" -> "view workgroup computer" Only the Workgroup name "HOMERS" shows up but all the other computers in the same workgroup don't show up. The list remains blank.

The computer having problems is running windows xp pro and the network card is a PCI ibm netfinity 10/100 ethernet adapter (intel chipset).

The problem computer has

Ip address of 192.168.1.102
subnetmask 255.255.255.0
Default gateway 192.168.1.1 (routers address)

Windows xp firewall is enabled but no other firewall sofware is installed.

When I try to repear the network It reports back the it has failed "Clearing NetBT"

Any assistance in solving this netowk problem would be greatly appreciated.

Managed to repair the network problem I was having Re: unable to browse network. and the error message failed "Clearing NetBT" when trying to repair the network.

The following web site in regards to MS error Event ID: 4311

http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?...

This error can occur because of an incorrect registry setting. In my case the value for HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\NetBT\Parameters\TransportBindName was blank. I set it to "\Device\", rebooted and the error was gone.

I checked all the other computers and they all had this setting enabled

Once that setting was added to the registery then everything worked fine.
