Solved unable to security camera network

Specs: Windows 7
cannot plug aditional eternet cable into your modem #b90-210015-04 as theres only one ethernet connection and i have to have camera dvr and computer on same network.

Get a router.

Assuming you have highspeed internet, a typical setup is as follows:

Internet >> Modem >> SOHO Router >> client connects/printers/cameras

If your modem is just a modem, then you'll need to put a SOHO Router between it and your LAN as per my example above.

Some modems are actually combination devices. Which is to say, a modem, SOHO Router and wireless Access Point combined.

If you have such a unit your setup would be as follows:

Internet >> Combo Unit >> client connections/printers/cameras

Most SOHO Routers only come with 4 LAN ports (for client connections) and if you require more connections than that, you'll have to buy a switch with enough ports and connect it to a LAN port on the router with a crossover cable
