Unable to renew IP address

I have 2 Dell pcs, one for me and one for my children. I have 2 NICs cards installed in my pc, and networked the 2 computers without a router this way. Everything worked fine until i moved. I changed nothing, yet am unable to access the internet on the childrens pc. the error message i get is "unable to renew ip adress. I have checked old posts and havent found one that corrects my problem. I think i need to remove the old ip, but cant do it. tried ipconfig /release and /renew, called my ISP they cant help either. what should i do? thanks for any help~ Catatonicus
