Hi,

I have recently purchased a new router and wireless access point (Linksys Wireless-G Broadband Router). The router works really well. However, I am now unable to get on eBay.co.uk or ebay.com!! I use it alot and it is really annoying me!

Both the wired and the wireless PCs do not load up the website and it times out when I try to ping it.

I did have Windows Firewall turned on but I turned that off and it did work again for a moment but then then next time I tried to go on it didnt work.

I have never seen anything like this before - it only seems to be eBay that wont load! And I need it the most...typical.

I have checked the router settings and all seem fine...the last thing I can think of is upgrading the firmware on the router but I cant see that working?

Any ideas on why it would be doing this would be fantastic.

Cheers

Josh

hi josh

try out the following on one computer connected to the network.

1. disable any security systems and then check if you can browse the ebay page.

2. on internet explorer open internet options goto privacy click advanced and then check all the check boxes

click ok and then check if u can browse ebay

3. get the dns numbers from your isp and then force the dns on ur router.

i m sure this can help.

I have just set up a new dlink router.
Neither myself or the other people on the network could access hotmail or ebay.
The problem was solved when I updated the firmware and changed both the MTU and MRU settings to 1458 bytes. These settings are to do with the maximum packet sizes.
Seeing as I did all of this at once, I am unsure as to what fixed it! Think it was MTU & MRU though.
Hope this was of some use.
