well I have set up a home network 3 Pc win xp pro ( wich is host pc - share internet connection ) laptop with xp home and old one with win 2000. well I am able to connet to internet from laptop and win 2000. and connect from host to laptop and win 2000, but i can not connet to host computer form laptopand win 2000. I see it in workgroup, but when i prees connect to host i get access denied. well host has ip 192.168.0.1, and ather has 198.168.0.xxx. where can be the problem. I reinstaled win xp pro nothing changed.

OK, we know the cables are OK and you can connect from the Pro to home and 2K. This proves all ip layer 1-3 is ok.

Now you say access is denied. A user xp home ought to connect without any update to the samba. You might have to look at the ntfs permissions. Normally leave the share open to everyone and lock it down with user rights.
