Hi,
recently one of my home's computer hooked up to the same router have had its internet stop working. The other two computer hooked to the same router are fine. I checked the cables and the network card and the cables are firmly attached (displays disconnect when i unplug it, and display connect when i hook it up). Network card is working fine accroding to window's hardware status.
I am just wondering if anyone can offer some insight or suggestion into this, if you need further information ask away
Thanks in advance

Ensure your computer sits in same network(uniques IP, same netmask, same gateway) with other 2 computers. Then use this simple ping program to troubleshoot the problem.

Have fun..

Is it pulling an address ? Bring up a DOS prompt and type in ipconfig , it is pulling an address and it is behind a home router it should read like 192.168.x.x , if it is not then it will probably read soemthing lkike 169.x.x.x . See if you can ping the routers gateway , if you don't know what that is you will probably have to pull out the routers manual and start reading to find out what it is or how to see it or you can go into one of the working computers and do that same ipconfig command and the default gateway is the router address you would use to ping it .

@Vipergg
The problematic computer is indeed able to ping the home gateway as well as other websites such as google. It is just unable to perform any internet-related things (sounds weird to my understanding)@Picohat
Thanks for the link, i followed all the steps of pinging and they all work properly. However, it still won't workI read a bit into the forums and saw quite a few people having the same problem as I am. I am just wondering if anyone who have had this issue resolved can offer some insights or experience into this weird scenario.
Thanks
