Unable to bypass gateway router

April 27, 2009 at 11:00:29
Specs: Windows XP
I have fios service w/verizon. I have a router and a wireless connection for my laptop. I purchased a Belkin Adapter for my desktop and have installed it successfully. Each time i type in an address to log onto the internet, i'm redirected to a Verizon screen asking me for a password/user id... it directs me to the default gateway... How can i get around this?

So if you type in any web address(www.somesite.com for ex) it redirects you to the router?

You have to login on to your ISP site before you can acess the net?

I have tried everything and it automatically pops up the Verizon screen requesting a user name/password... I've called the computer manufacturer, Belkin & needless to say Verizon... No one has an answer...

Contact fios provider for more detailed info on how to access their services.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
