two Pc's via modem??

Hi, I'm trying to network two pcs via modem, I was able to do the same using LAN on different pcs. Is there something I'm missing?, btw the pcs can connect to each other, I just can't see both pcs in network neighborhood. thanks

When the 2 computers are connected try this-click start and click run. and enter \\ipaddressofremotecomputer and then click run, if it works it will pop up a screen with shared drives.
