Hi, i have a BT voyager 105 adsl modem on my PC, and i also have another PC which i sometimes take the modem over to use with it. I was just thinking if i buy an extra modem, exactly the same type, would i be able to use on the other PC fine and if so would both PC's be able to go online at the same time? seeing as this is broadband i would have thought so.
and by the way i dont wantto buy a router, i can just get an extra modem for a few quid off eBay, so i just want to know if it will work or not.
thanks for your time.

No will not work as you only have one connection, a combined modem/router is the way to go, unless you pay for two broadband lines!

Alernatively ICS is an option:

Dont go ICS....not worth it...check out best buy or circuit city, you may pay $40 for a router but sometime can get it almost free with mail in rebates....

but in response to the original question. No, it defenitely wont work with two modems.

Or if youre not picky http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16833117301
there is a cheap ol router, i would personally go to best buy...

Routers for small home networks usually incorporate a switch in them to help balance connections. So don't go too cheap when buying one.

You must read instructions to set them up. You may have to call your ISP provider to help with this. Once they are setup,it is easy to share your ISP connection.

man cheapest thing ever all u need in total are 3 network cards
a dsl connection
a crosswire network cable
Your Dsl Modem

I assume you already have a network card on both computers a dsl connection and and a dsl modem now all you have to do is get a network card put it onto any computer now computer "A" has 2 cards and computer "B" has one card. And buy a network cable make sure its a CROSSWIRE long enough to extend from one computer to another and get a few extra meters just incase...

Now the practical part connect your dsl thinggy to computer A make sure its workin n blah blah...now take the network cable connect it from computer A to B now all your network cards are being used...now setup a small home or office network (XP) and on computer A when it asks you how the computer connects to the internet chose the "this computer connects to internet by itself or something and other computers conncet to the internet thru it" the itll ask you what device you use to connect to the net choose the card in which you popped ur dsl line.. on comp B setup a small home or office network and when it asks about the internet say it connect thru anoda comp...thats it ur done...now both of ur comps hav dsl but the speed depends if both comps are using it at the same time and blah blah
