Hi! I have a wireless connection at my university and have the possibility to have one at home too.

My problem is that I would like too be able to change between the two without having to change the TCP/IP settings. That is, I would like to be able to change very easy between the two. Is this possible?

set to dhcp for your ip which it most likely is already set as and you will have no problems barring other configuration issues.

DHCP gives u a dynamic IP address. That is it changes your IP address automatically without you having to manually change the IP address.

In order to make it work both the wireless AP at your university has to be set to DHCP server and the wireless at your home has to be set to DHCP server. Then all you need do is set the TCP/IP setting of your wireless NIC card to "obtain IP address automatically". And your set....almost.

Problem is now your IP address will change automatically BUT wireless APs also associate by what's called a SID - station identifier. The SID of the Wireless at school may be "XYZ" and unless you name your wireless AP at home "XYZ" you'll still end up having to manually change the settings between the university and home or your wireless NIC won't associate with the AP for wireless connectivity.

Check wireless NIC's manufacturer web site for wireless network managment software.
You may find something simmilar to two
dial-up connection but for wireless network.
