I have two computer. One computer running Windows Me and the other computer running Windows 98Se. I just wanted to know how to connect two of my computer to the internet. I have cable internet connection. And what do I need to connect two of my computer to share my cable internet.

you need a cross-over cable, it's like a normal rj45 cable but the pins are set differently you will also need both machines to have a network card then setup you're win ME pc to host the internet via a cable connection . that should be ok then

You have a few options in this. You can either do as suggested above and hook the computers up via a cross-over cable, or you can use a hub/switch.
the problem with the cross-over solution is that you will end up with two NIC's in the host computer (assuming you have a cable modem that plugs into your computer via Ethernet and not a USB one which is a whole other story). Two NICs in one computer can be confusing for Win98 and ME.
also, you will need to configure both computers with Internet Connection sharing via the ICS wizard included with Windows ME and Windows 98SE.
A second option is using a HUB/Switch. Basicially you install network cards in both computers and plug everything into the hub/switch including the cable modem. Set both computer's IP settings up per your cable modem provider and you are all set.
If your service limits the number if IP addresses you are allowed, you will have to add one more step.
You will need to either use a proxy program (Win proxy, Gatekeeper or something simular) or add a Cable Modem Router. The router is easier to explain and configure so I'll tell you the basic setup. If you have more questions, you can email me.
1. Plug your cable modem into your router uplink port.
2. Then plug your hub into the router (You can get a nice Router/switch combo from Linksys or Netgear for about $150)
3. Setup your router per the specs of your cable modem provider.
4. Setup your computers to get their IP addresses via DHCP. The router will act as the DHCP server and provide all the info you will need.
Cable modem connection sharing can be tricky, but it's not all that complex if you think about it..
As I said, if you have any questions, feel free to email..
