trying to connect two computers....

ok what im tryin to do is conect two computers using the same cable connection and modem.....what would be the best possible and cheapest way to do this.....what i want to do is connect two computers but both being able to log on to the net at the same time.....i really dont need to be able to transfer information... its not that important to me... please help me if there are any questions about anything please feel free to ask...

Try using a router. They are not that expensive. Linksys works really well, and it is easy to configure. You'll be up in less than ten minutes after you plug it in. Set your machine to use DHCP for IP address.
