trouble in ping

i have a two computers network which one computer runs win2k and the other runs win98. i could not ping the other computer correctly but, strangely, i can open any documents set to be shared. is there any good suggestion available? thx

Hi,

You sure you are using TCP/IP protocol?

I think you are using NetBeui or IPX, maybe also TCP/IP with one of the other.

You may have a problem with IP but because of the other protocol your sharing still works

R u sure that u r using TCP/IP protocol?

i think u r useing NETBuei. if u r useing the TCP/IP then r u sure that u r useing the correct address.

plz check out this details and if u have any problem ... then contact me at my mail with IP address details with NET-mask of both PCs.
