I am having trouble getting one of my computers to show up on my network.

My network is setup as the following:

1 computer (the Vista machine) is hooked up to a DSL modem and servs as the internet connection. It is connected to my wireless router via ethernet cable.

The rest of the computers I have are connected wirelessly and have no trouble accessing the DSL modem or the Internet. I can see the other computers that are connected wirelesly in my workgroup jsut fine and can ping their IPs. However for some reason the Vista computer that is wired to the Wireless Router instead of wirelessly like the others does not show up in my workgroup. It can see the other computers and access/ping them. But none of my wireless computers can ping it or access it.

Is there a way to get any of my computers that are connected wirelessly to see the Vista computer or will I have to go out and buy another wireless USB adapter so that it is connected wirelessly as well? If I do that then its pretty good chance it will then show up since I've gotten another vista machine (a laptop) to show up in my workgroup when its connected wirelessly. I do not believe this is a operating system issue. It may be a configuration issue with my Wireless Router.

The Wireless Router is a Belkin F5D7230-4.

The DSL modem is also connected via ethernet to the Wireless router, however I have no problems connecting to that via the other computers.

Help would be appreciated.

in the properties of the vista network icon, the user 'everyone' needs to be added in the users box, open advanced and look for the everyone and add it

Check the Vista computer to see any enabled firewall program. It can be Windows firewall, built in firewall on antivirus software, etc..

I recently switced my DSL modem to "Bridge Mode" so that I can currectly host a game. My wireless router is setup to not have routing functions for my computer (aka the DMZ as some call it) so I can host game servers without having to forword a ton of ports. My other computers are still routed and are protected from most hacking and such. They don't have firewalls turned on nor does the Vista Machine.

I don't know why but after switching the DSL modem to bridge mode and telling the Wireless router to login to my DSL ISP instead of the modem, I can now ping the Vista machine. This means that all I have to do now is figure out whats not configured currectly on the vista machine since my machine can now "see" it.

I'll try the first suggestion first.

Problem solved. Turned out File and Printer sharing was disabled for the Local Area Connection. So I couldn't get it to show up even though I was able to ping it. I can now access it from the workgroup and even take control of it via Remote Desktop Connection.
