Trouble connecting to internet w/windows 7

December 7, 2010 at 18:31:19
Specs: Windows 7
My new laptop is an Acer Aspire with Windows 7 Home Premium. I am having trouble when I turn on the computer and want to connect to my wireless internet. The wireless internet appears available in the list of networks, but when I click "connect", it says it cannot connect. Sometimes it will appear to connect and then say "Limited Access Only". At times I disconnect, then reconnect and the internet does work. Other times I'm not able to connect. What is the solution or fix?

Open the network and sharing center, then click (down the left side) 'Change adapter settings'. Right click on Wireless Network Connection, and click Properties. In the white box, find 'Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)'. Click on it then click properties. Make sure that the 'Obtain an IP address automatically' and 'Obtain DNS server address automatically' buttons are checked. If they arent, select them and click ok. Restart and try to reconnect.

Let me know if that works.
