Trouble bridging connections

Specs: Windows XP, 2/2
I'm having trouble bridging my laptop wireless connection to my desktop via an ethernet cable. I have a solid wireless connection and an ethernet cable connecting my laptop to my desktop. I highlighted my LAN and Wireless connections and clicked Bridged. This promptly disconnected my wireless connection and gave it a "Not Connected" status which couldn't be resolved until I restarted. When I restarted everything was connected but I couldn't access the internet on my laptop or desktop. So I removed the bridge and the internet worked again on my laptop. Am I doing this wrong?

I never have been able to figure out a network bridge. If you want internet on the desktop, just enable Internet Connection Sharing between them.

I tried that and it worked for a little while then stopped. I got it to work by using the Network setup wizard. Works like a charm
