Tracing, blocking, and reporting IP

A friend of mine had his account on DeviantART hacked into by an internet troll; all of his work...gone. Not just his DeviantART account, but many other online accounts, and even his home computer. I've also made a not-so-wise decision by "feeding the troll"...I left a rather caustic remark on said troll's victim, which might have made me a target for this troll/hacker.
I've seen this guy's youtube account, and read some rather bold and genocidal content.
How do I trace the IP address of this man, block the IP address from any type of communication between my IP address and his, and report the IP address to the proper authorities?

First off all, your friend should have had a backup. If you have the IP, I'll trace it for you but don't forget, he could have been using a proxy.

No, I don't have his IP address. If he was using a proxy, then what does that mean for me? Also, could this guy go to jail for his genocidal remarks?

I'm still trying to figure out what "I left a rather caustic remark on said troll's victim" means.

How are you going to trace his IP if you don't have it?

If you're not the target of the hack, then there's nothing you can do. Your friend should report it to the host site and let them deal with it.

I left a heated comment on my friend's account, however, the account was hacked into. The troll was in control of the affected account, so the comment I left was directed at the the troll.
Since then, my antivirus program has been popping up, stating that it has blocked an intrusion attempt, almost 70 times per 10 minutes. It only stops when I disconnect my computer from the LAN. I assumed that it was the troll I addressed earlier.
I honestly don't know much about computers; all I know is that people tell me to block his IP address, but how do I go about finding it so I can block it.

If your anti virus program isn't logging the IP, then you can forget about it. Clean your machine of any malware and move on to something else.

Just out of curiosity, what's the name on his youtube account?

Tell your friend to contact the Deviantart people. The should be able restore his account to the way it was. Yahoo did that for my brother. The guy who hacked my brother's account was dumb enough to change the account ownership to his real name.

CntrlAlt1337 seems to be from Australia but his web site is under a protected whois so I couldn't get his home adddress but the IP of the web site is

That is not the IP of his PC.
