I have a windows 2000 domain with address 192.168.0.1 as my dns and dhcp server. When I do a tracert I always get ip 10.1.204.1 as the second adress, right after 192.168.0.1. What is this address? It's not any internal address that I know of and it's not an address of my isp. The reason I ask is because I am having connectivity problems to the internet and I belive this is the problem

I looked up the mystery IP and it turns out it is an address in CA. This means the my internet traffic is going from my computer here in Buffalo NY, to 10.1.204.1 in california then back to my ISP who is in Pittsburg. How is this happening? Is my system being hacked? and if so how do I fix the problem?

Dear Jeremy,
I would speak to your ISP and get this sorted out. I'm sure then can resolve this for you as your paying them for this service. Regards, CE.
