Hello! I have a somewhat tough setup, but I think it can be worked out to work well. First, I have three computers, a Dell Desktop running Windows ME (we'll call it "Dell"), a Hewlett-Packard desktop running Windows 95 (we'll call it "HP") and an HP laptop running Windows XP Home (we'll call it "Laptop"). Now for the complicated part...I have 2 routers. A Netgear MR814 Wireless Router and a Linksys BEFSR41 4-port router. Here's how I have it set up:
The cable modem goes into the Linksys, which then routs out to the Dell computer and to the Netgear. The HP is connected into the Netgear hard wired, and the laptop wirelessly connects to the netgear.I know that it would make things a lot easier to just use one router, but it wouldn't. Running cables in my house is very limited, and this is the only way to do it. So, using my existing setup/equipment, I need to find a way for them to all network together. All three computers have internet access, but they cannot all see each other on the network. The Laptop and the HP can see each other (both are connected into the Netgear Router), but neither can see the Dell, and visa-versa. Somehow, I need a way to make the two routers communicate so that all three computers can see and access each other.
How would I go about doing this? I'm not TOO computer literate, so if you could give me some instructions that would be great.
Thanks so much in advance for your help!
Michael

You cannot do peer-to-peer networking (read windows file sharing) through NAT, which is performed by both your routers. You can log on to a windows NT domain through NAT, i believe, but not do workgroup sharing. One way to get around that would be to put a wireless card in your dell and have it log on to the netgear wireless router. Best of luck.
